Pictures of the decade: 2002
Monday 28th December 2009, 10:00AM GMT.

For the second time in eight years, fire ravaged the Hotel de France, gutting the north wing and badly damaging the core of the building. Noone was injured but 400 guests were evacuated and up to 70 firefighters – the Island’s entire reserve – fought throughout the night of 12 September, 2002, to control the blaze.
