Pictures of the decade: 2004
Monday 28th December 2009, 3:00PM GMT.

The Jersey Revels were the centrepiece of the year’s 1204-2004 celebrations
The year of 2004 will be remembered for the devastating Boxing Day earthquake and tsunami in south-east Asia which resulted in huge loss of life.
Jersey mourned the death of Islander Peter Harrison who died in the disaster, but gave thanks for the fact that many Jersey families managed to escape relatively unharmed.
It was also a year of celebration for Islanders who marked the 800th anniverary of a significant date in Jersey’s constitutional history; a visit from Prince Charles; the opening of the new Hautlieu School ; and the first Jersey Live music festival.
• A review of the decade, plus a look back at the devastating 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, a full entertainment guide, cartoons of the decade, a suggested walk for the holiday, a news quiz and crossword can all be found in the JEP’s special Boxing Day edition on sale all this week to raise money for the Joint Charities Christmas Appeal
