Poll-topping Senator Stuart Syvret is pictured leaving the States building after being as Health Minister after more than six hours of debate. Members eventually backed Chief Minister Frank Walker’s call for him to be dismissed from his ministry and brought his eight years at the head of Health and Social Services to an end. In December. the Bailiff brought the last States sitting of the year to a halt after Senator Syvret chose to use his Christmas speech to attack the Jersey establishment. The Senator was entitled to make a speech in his role as Father of the House (the longest-serving Senator). But Sir Philip Bailhache brought proceedings to an end and Members filed out as Senator Syvret continued with his speech. Picture: Matthew Hotton
