Pictures of the decade: 2009

Tuesday 29th December 2009, 6:00PM GMT.

An estimated 7,000 Islanders stood shoulder to shoulder along St Ouen’s Bay to form a line in the sand as a protest at large-scale and out-of-character development on the Island’s precious coastline and to send out a message that this kind of building must stop. The event was organised by the National Trust for Jersey who said that the turnout showed just how much Islanders cared about their coastline and wanted to preserve it.
