Trinity crib service

The three wise men: Tony Olsen, Francis Hamon and Graham Cullen (00859571)
IT was a Nativity with a difference that brought 1,500 Islanders out on a wet Christmas Eve.
The shepherds watched over a herd of feisty live goats instead of sheep, a real baby wriggled in the manger and Noel the turkey once again took a starring role.
But the message at the now traditional Trinity Crib Service remained the same and the sense of community was as strong as ever, according to organisers. There was standing room only in the exhibition hall, with every bale of hay and seat taken.
This year’s Trinity Crib Service, which was held at the Royal Jersey Showground, raised £1,700 for the Jersey Homeless Outreach Group and Jersey Women’s Refuge.
