Scott Clayton through to last 16
ISLAND senior cap Scott Clayton won through to the last 16 of the 18 and Under Winter Grand Prix Tennis Series in Hertfordshire yesterday.
At Welwyn Garden City, the 15-year-old came from behind to win 6-7 (7), 6-3, 6-4 against Surrey’s Jordan Bull in the Grade 2 National event.
Clayton, who earlier this month won under-16 singles and doubles titles in Malta and was runner-up in the 16 and Under Grand Prix in Nottingham, was on court yesterday for two hours and 58 minutes.
The Millfield School student faces fifth seed Ben Davis today and if successful he will secure himself a second match later today in the quarter-finals of the competition.
