Boxing Day confusion
Thursday 31st December 2009, 2:59PM GMT.
From Peter Falle.
WANT something organised? Then don’t ask a politician, especially a Jersey politician. Now, let’s see, Christmas Day, Friday the 25th.
Yes, good so far, so Boxing Day must be Saturday the 26th, right? No, wrong, thanks to our politicians, Boxing Day will be on Monday the 28th.
Good, well no, shops that should have opened on Saturday were closed. But wait, if Monday is now Boxing Day, why then are many shops open? Confused?
You shouldn’t be. Just remember who organised this non-event. As Monk Frost said, ‘Logic is the theory we constantly abuse’.

Win a share of £10,000
2012 is the year of the London Olympics and to celebrate this great event the Jersey Evening Post, in association with sponsors Ogier is giving all sporting clubs a chance to win a share of £10,000.
Some shops had signs saying:
“Boxing Day – Closed
New Boxing Day – Closed”
I thought it was just a typo at first but it wasn’t.
