IN-FORM strikers Craig Leitch and Jamie Savory took advantage of a weakened St John last night scoring all St Saviour’s goals in a 7-2 Trinity Shield first round win at Les Quennevais.

Savory helped himself to four goals while Leitch grabbed a hat-trick adding to his four-goal return against St Brelade on Monday. St John’s marksmen were Ryan Poingdestre and Richie Raulson.

St Saviour manager Ian Corfield said: ‘St John got a lot of players behind the ball first half and they made it very difficult for us.

‘We managed to score just before half time to go 3-1 up and in the second half it became a lot more comfortable because they ran out of steam.’
