Jacy Brown
NETBALLER Jacy Brown has been invited to trials for Scotland’s 2010 Commonwealth Games squad.
The 18-year-old, who made her international debut for Scotland in the Six Nations Cup in Singapore earlier this month, will travel to the University of Stirling for assessment on 9 January.
She said: ‘I’ve been shortlisted to go to trials for Scotland’s Commonwealth Games netball team. A squad of about 17 girls will go down to a training camp and they will probably take around 12 players to Delhi for the competition although I’m not sure when we will find out.’
Only a few months ago the highlight of Brown’s netballing year came in the form of Jersey’s fierce inter-insular battle with Guernsey. However, since going to study at Glasgow University the former Convent player, who also made her debut for Superleague side Glasgow Wildcats this month, has experienced a rapid rise to the top.
