The appointment of Crown Advocate Howard Sharp as the Island’s new Solicitor General has been approved by the Queen.
Crown Advocate Sharp will take up his new position in March 2010 after being sworn in by the Royal Court. He will take over from former Solicitor General Tim Le Cocq, who has been appointed as the new Attorney General.
Advocate Sharp, an English Barrister, recently presented the successful prosecution case against Britain’s biggest drugs baron, Curtis Warren, in the Royal Court.
He was educated at Beacon Community College, East Sussex, and at Warwick University, before qualifying as an English Barrister in 2001 while practicing criminal law and personal injury law in London.
