In all 53 nations will be taking part with Great Britain ranked number 12. Both Nathan and Matt will be surfing in the under-18 category.

This is the first time in 20 years that two Jersey junior surfers have represented Great Britain and David Ferguson, president of the Jersey Surfboard Club said: ‘We wish the two boys the best of luck.

‘There will be a Jersey presence when they arrive there, in the shape of Kenton Osmond and former ASP longboarder Noel Creavy. The atmosphere should be amazing, and I believe that both boys will surf to the best of their ability.’
