Jersey cricket coach Craig Hogan: ‘It is a very difficult group’

JERSEY face hosts Nepal in their opening game in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division V tournament next month.

The tournament is fast approaching and while Jersey Cricket Board officials have not yet announced their travelling squad, because of a couple of clarifications on eligibility, coach Craig Hogan and the players are continuing to work hard in preparation.

Hogan said: ‘It’s a very tough start; Nepal will probably begin as favourites because they are hosts, so yes it is a difficult start. However we can look at it as having them out of the way after the first game but there will be more pressure on them because they will be expected to do well by the home supporters simply because they are hosts.’

Jersey play Nepal on 20 February and then Fiji the following day. After a rest day on 22 February, Jersey then takes on the USA on 23 February and Bahrain on 24 February.
Another rest day is scheduled on 25 February before a final group match on the 26th against Singapore.
