JERSEY’S Beckie Herbert has been named in the England women’s indoor squad for the EuroHockey Indoor Nations competition later this month, in Rouen, France.
Twenty-three-year-old Herbert, just back from Great Britain duty in Argentina, and enjoying a rich run of goalscoring form for her club Leicester, made her indoor England debut just over a year ago and registered four goals from her four appearances at Eastleigh, Hampshire.
Head coach Nick Clark has named a strong squad as he looks to get England promoted out of the Challenge division and into the second tier of indoor European competition, the Trophy division.
During their three days of competition over the weekend of 15-17 January, England will face Wales, France, Sweden, Croatia and Turkey in a round-robin event, playing each opponent once.
