JERSEY cricketers travelling to the World Cricket League Division V tournament in Nepal next month are to visit a local orphanage during their stay.
Team captain Ryan Driver and fellow Le Rocquier School physical education teacher Andy Dewhurst are replicating what they did on the trip to Tanzania in 2008.
Driver said: ‘Contact has already been made with the orphanage and hopefully when we visit them it will be with a full squad this time. It was a real eye-opener last time and something that will remain with me for the rest of my life.
‘It’s a voluntary national organisation that runs the orphanage and we will be looking to raise some funds for them while we are in Nepal.’
