JERSEY Wanderers striker Jamie Savory and St Peter defender Neal Crowell have won call ups into Island manager Jon Welsh’s Dandara Jersey Football Combination select squad.

Savory was in fine form for St Saviour in the Trinity Shield inter-parochial football tournament over the Christmas period when he scored seven goals in two games for St Saviour, while Crowell has impressed of late in Premiership matches for St Peter.

Two other Muratti players have been named in the 20-player squad, St Paul’s goalkeeper Andrew Bird following his recovery from a broken wrist sustained playing for Jersey at the Island Games in Aland last summer and Grouville defender Joel Speight who was unavailable in the last round when Jersey won 1-0 away to the Essex Olympian League.

Welsh said: ‘I’ve announced a training squad of 20 and it will be cut to 16 for the game against the Dorset Premier League at the end of the month. ‘Jamie has been in good goal scoring form; he has a lot of pace and he will give the team another option.’
