Police: Let this be a warning to all drivers

DRIVERS have been told to consider the Sophia de la Haye case as a stark warning to anyone considering having a drink and then driving.

States police yesterday used the case to highlight their anti-drink-drive message and urged people to find alternative ways home when they are drunk.

In a statement, Inspector Diane Wheeler of the States police said: ‘This case illustrates the devastating consequences that drink-driving can have for victims and how it can have an impact on many lives, including that of the person who has been drinking and driving.

‘We cannot stress enough the dangers of drink-driving, and that it is a choice that people make.’
