IT is first v second tomorrow when JRFC take on nearest rivals Old Albanians at St Peter in National League III South East.

The game between two high-flying and ambitious teams is not the first time they have met – Jersey beat the visitors early in the season but only by three late points – and despite Jersey’s nine-point lead at the top of the table, coach Ben Harvey wants to right a wrong which still annoys him.

‘We know it will be a big game, but despite beating them on their ground we played badly. The annoying thing is that if we do things right, we can beat anyone.

‘And the lads are really fired up at the moment. Such a strong desire to do well means I hope they’ll gel from the start – despite the Christmas break and then because of the weather.

‘The break did us no favours but Myles (Landick) has got the pitch in terrific condition and we have a strong squad of players to send out to play. If it dries out then it promises to be a terrific game.’

Jersey 1sts match kicks off at 2.15 pm.
