Jersey Heritage chairman Clive Jones: ‘We are aiming to set a sustainable course for 2010’

JERSEY Heritage is seeking business-minded trustees to help to transform the organisation after severe financial problems almost forced it to close its sites.

The charity, which last year revealed that it may be forced to lay off staff and shut the Maritime Museum, Hamptonne and the Occupation Tapestry Gallery, is looking to replace a number of trustees about to retire.

Clive Jones, Jersey Heritage chairman, said: ‘At this stage we are particularly keen to hear from individuals who have legal, commercial or financial experience. Jersey Heritage faces a number of challenges at present and we are in the process of evaluating different ways forward.

‘Although 2010 may well be a year of change, it will also be a year in which a sustainable course is set for the organisation. We are looking for people keen to help us achieve that.’
