JERSEY’S bid to host the 2015 Island Games enters an ‘extremely important’ phase this week.
Two members of the International Island Games Association executive committee will be touring accommodation and sporting facilities tomorrow and on Saturday to assess what is on offer.
Chairman of Jersey’s bid committee, Phil Austin, said: ‘We have two representatives coming over, one from Aland and one from Shetland, and we have put together a comprehensive programme for them.
‘This is an extremely important visit. We believe we’ve put together a very strong case on paper and they are coming over to verify that we have all those things and can show them in person.’
