JERSEY is playing a key role in raising tax transparency standards around the globe, according to senior figures.
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development announced this week that almost 300 agreements on tax transparency and exchange of information had been signed since the April 2009 G20 London summit.
The OECD said its members and the G20 countries were all committed to these standards.
Jersey’s Treasury Minister, Philip Ozouf, said the Island was now sitting at the forefront of world-wide efforts in helping others meet OECD standards.
He said that the Island was vice-chair of the OECD Global Forum Peer Review Group and was a member alongside India, Singapore and Japan.
