Barny Allen
JERSEY-BORN rugby coach Barny Allen has been promoted to Head of Strength and Conditioning at Gloucester Rugby Club.
The 27-year-old, who has been with the Guinness Premiership side for five seasons, previously worked as assistant strength and conditioning coach.
However, with the news that Mark Bitcon was leaving to join Wigan Warriors at the end of November, the former Le Rocquier and Victoria College student stepped up into the top job.
The son of Pat and Tim Allen, he formerly played for Jersey RFC, having also captained the Victoria College 1st XV, before leaving the Island for Bath University, completing a BSc in sport and exercise science.
After finishing his studies he landed the job with Gloucester and is also contracted to work with the England squad. He helped the National side through last summer’s international games.
