Saturday 23rd January 2010, 2:59PM GMT.

The late Cristina Maicka Vieira Da Luz
A WOMAN who died after falling through a glass roof at a house in St Saviour has been named as 22-year-old Cristina Maicka Vieira Da Luz.
Miss Da Luz, from Venezuela, died shortly after the incident, which happened just before 6 am last Sunday.
A 29-year-old man, who also fell through the roof, was treated in the General Hospital but was later discharged.
In a statement released yesterday, DI Chris Beechey, of the States police, said: ‘We can confirm that there continues to be no evidence to suggest that this tragic event is suspicious.’

This is an absolute tragedy but how it is not suspicious escapes me, it is not normal to be on a greenhouse roof at 5am is it. We need to know the circumstances surrounding this accident, was drink or drugs involved, was anyopne else involved and exactly how did it come to happen.
My thoughts are with the poor girls family

You don’t ‘need’ to know anything more Mulvie. That’s nosiness, and nothing else.
Regardless of the circumstances it’s a tragedy that need not have happened.

Outsider I submit that based upon your definition all news reporting is nosiness, is the current child torturing erpisode occupying all of the papers nosiness?
If so there are a lot of nosy people about, if someone falling off a greenhouse roof at 5am is reported people naturally want to know how it happened – or else don’t report it. Unless of course you think it natural to be on a greeenhouse roof at that time.

Seems a fair question to me. Total waste of a young life as with that poor young man who fell of the balcony in Columbia.

I disagree that it’s “nosiness” to want to know what this lady was doing early on a Sunday morning on top of someone else’s greenhouse unbeknownst to the owner.
Following the same philosophy as that, having an interest in anything that appears in the news could be described as being “nosy”.
I for one would be most interested to know more details surrounding this incident as I suspect that mind-altering substances were involved, and tragic as this story is, at least it could perhaps go some way to discouraging others from making a similar mistake.

Every road accident apparently ‘costs’ us money due to the cost of employing all the police and health dept workers (who were employed that day anyway!) so surely the same logic applies? It cost us money to deal with the situation, therefore we’re entitled to know why.
