Nerina Pallot is to top the bill for the Help Haiti CI Fundraising Concert

NERINA Pallot has agreed to lead a host of local talent at a special all-day festival of music to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The Jersey international singing star will join Brave Yesterday, Kevin Pallot and Lloyd Yates in the Help Haiti CI Fundraising Concert, which is due to take place on Sunday 28 February at Fort Regent.

Several events managers, concert promoters, artists and others involved in the music business in Jersey have come together to put on the event, including the teams behind Jersey Live, the Branchage International Film Festival, Delta Conference Systems, Stage 2 Productions and Cowshed Acoustics.

They say that the event, subject to relevant permissions, will feature a comprehensive schedule of entertainment throughout the day, with catering outlets and bars on site as well. They are also planning to hold a silent auction on the day and appealing to local companies and individuals to donate lots.

• A website, www.helphaitici.com, has been established to keep people up to date with event information, including line-ups and about satellite events. Information on how to buy tickets will be posted on it soon.

‘The website will allow people to donate directly and will carry information regarding the distribution of funds raised, which will benefit the Bailiff’s Jersey Disaster Appeal alongside other major charitable funds or specific in-country projects,’ Mr MacFirbhisigh explained.

• Silent auction lots can be donated by contacting haitijerseylou@gmail.com. The organisers say that they would welcome donations and are also looking to sign up corporate sponsors.
