Northern Ireland U18s return to Springfield next week where they will face the Island Junior teams on Monday and Tuesday
NORTHERN Ireland’s under-18 Centenary Shield football squad are to play two matches at Springfield Stadium next week.
Games have been arranged against Jersey’s under-18s with the now annual visitors playing matches on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
Jersey’s U18s held the Irish to a 2-2 draw last year having at one time led 2-0 after a stunning 25-yard strike from John Borg and a second goal from Jay Reid.
In the first game Northern Ireland were beaten 3-0 by a senior Island Select. Northern Ireland manager Bob Ramsey said: ‘We play our first warm-up game against Australia at Crusaders FC on Wednesday and then we have Jersey to look forward to again.
