In-form Bishops have a score to settle tomorrow

BISHOP’S Stortford are the Rugby Club’s opponents tomorrow and they are looking forward to exacting revenge for their 52-10 defeat when Jersey visited their Hertfordshire ground last October.
At the time they were losing more games than they were winning but, under coaches Peter Engledow and Mick Coleman, they have since put together an impressive array of victories in recent weeks, including a 65-18 win over Portsmouth; a 48-10 win over Hayward’s Heath away from home; and a 22-0 win against North Walsham last weekend.
They are also second in the bonus points rankings of National III South East, with 11 points to Jersey’s 14.
The best rugby team in their county last year they have, according to Jersey coach Ben Harvey, ‘a very lively scrum-half who counters well and is quick with his feet’ plus a ball-carrying captain and No 8 Mark McCraith who averages a try every two games.
And, in outside half Tom Coleman an exceptional kicker who also likes to dominate the game.
So although they visit Jersey as underdogs they will see no reason why they cannot be the second team to beat Jersey this season, albeit the first since 5 September.
• Kick-off at St Peter tomorrow is 2.15pm. Jersey 2nds v Bishop’s Stortford 2nds is at 11.30am.
