Sproting Academics reach last four
Wednesday 3rd February 2010, 2:57PM GMT.
SPORTING Academics Reserves reached the semi-finals of the Dog Club Trophy last night following a 2-1 victory against St Clement Reserves at Les Quennevais.
Keiran Canning and Tom McAllister netted for the winners and Matt Scriven for the losers. The draw for the semi-finals of the competition will be made this weekend.
Sporting Academics reserve team manager Danny Westgarth has had less good fortune. He broke his right leg for the second time in six months on Saturday.
The injury was in the same place as his last break and was sustained while blocking a shot. Westgarth was not scheduled to play in the Dandara Jersey Football Combination Division I game at Les Quennevais, but without a recognised goalkeeper he stepped in to help his team out.
