Don’t be another boxed-in Island …
Thursday 4th February 2010, 3:00PM GMT.
From Beverley Pasqua.
I VISITED Tenerife recently and stayed in an excellent hotel. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful and the weather was sunny and seldom below 24ºC.
Sadly, Tenerife is spoilt by swathes of concrete with row upon row of apartments and ‘box houses’ smothering the island.
Please be careful, Jersey.

You might just have placd your well-meant comments in a crack in the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem for all the good they will do – and that is a terrible pity.
Believe me Beverley Pasqua, these benighted ‘crapauds’ worship only one god and one god only: PROFIT AT ALL COSTS.
Aesthetics, the environment and the quality of life itself do not appear in the minds of Jersey’s planning authority, nor the building contractors that live off it.
Tough, but true.

Tenerife has become a concrete jungle but then again the hot sunny weather lifts everyone’s spirits. Jersey is subject to cold winters, insulated apartments are excellent.
