BEAULIEU Convent School’s Year 7 football team were crowned English Schools FA Indoor South Regional champions last week.
A 7-3 victory in the final at Soccer City in Fareham means that they progress, and are the first Jersey girls’s team to do so, to the National English Schools FA Championship which is being held next month.
Beaulieu qualified for last Thursday’s competition after beating teams from Haute Vallée, JCG, Le Rocquier, and Les Quennevais in the Jersey Secondary Schools event that was held in the Island.
PE teacher Elle Richings said: ‘When you go away you are unaware of what the standard will be, so to go away and win all those matches was fantastic. We had a real scoring prowess and played very well as a team and we were all absolutely ecstatic at the final whistle to win.’
