Trevor Jackson was jailed for four years and nine months
A UK university lecturer who groomed a 13-year-old Jersey schoolgirl on the internet and then met her for sex in an Island hotel was jailed for four years and nine months yesterday.
Biomedicine expert Trevor Jackson (47) admitted using chat rooms to seduce the teenager, before arranging secret meetings at the four-star Grand Hotel on the Esplanade.
Jackson, of Lyndhurst Avenue, Jesmond, Newcastle, admitted five counts of meeting a child following sexual grooming and five counts of sexual activity with a child when he appeared in Newcastle Crown Court.
Jackson also pleaded guilty to two charges of making indecent photographs of a child and three charges of the possession of indecent photographs of a child.
The offences, which happened between September 2005 and February 2006, came to light last year.
