Saturday 6th February 2010, 3:00PM GMT.

The Rev Phil Warren:
A TEAM from a Jersey church are travelling to Kenya next week to work with vulnerable children who have been abused or abandoned.
St Matthew’s Church has been supporting the Christian charity the Kenyan Children’s Project for the past two years and is now keen to see the project’s workat first hand.
The team will be led by St Matthew’s vicar the Rev Phil Warren and leave Jersey on Wednesday. They will spend ten days getting to know the children living at the charity’s Koinonia Christian Retreat Centre.
The centre in Kakamega, north Kisumu, houses 22 boys who have been abandoned or abused and aims to bring them hope and peace.
The Jersey group will also take to the streets to continue the charity’s work with the street children of the area.
