Hawks duo scoop title

THE new Hawks pairing Jamie Smith and Jon Southern won the men’s Division I section of the 2009 Winter Credit Suisse Badminton League.

Smith, who has returned to the game after a long absence away, lost only one game all session. The duo missed the perfect score of 30 when they were beaten by Touchstone Flyers’s Tim Noel and Rob Cottignies, the runners-up by one point.

Jersey secured top positions in the Ladies’s Division and the Mixed Division I. Jersey’s Jade Coombs-Goodfellow and Touchstone Flyers’s Cara McGinnigle reigned supreme securing the Ladies’s Division without conceding a game.

Jersey’s father-and-daughter pairing of Ian and Jade Coombs-Goodfellow dropped just one point all session to finish top in Mixed Division I.
