JERSEY’S bid for promotion to Division IV of the World Cricket League started today as the squad began their trip to India and Nepal.
Coach Craig Hogan and his players are itching to get started having spent months raising their fitness levels while more recently concentrating hard on the playing side of their games.
Before the WCL tournament starts next Saturday, with Jersey facing Nepal in their opening 50-overs-a-side game, the Island squad have some fine turning to do first with a four-day training camp in India.
Hogan, appointed Jersey Cricket Board coach last March, said: ‘It’s been a long wait to play in a WCL tournament but it’s really exciting now with it being just a week away.
‘We’ve had many excellent training sessions and every squad member has a role to play and they know what their roles are.’
