JERSEY’S World Cricket League Division V cricketers suffered a seven-wicket defeat in their first Twenty20 warm-up match against a Chandigarh XI in India today.
At the Sector 16 Stadium in Chandigarh, near to the Himalayan foothills, former Jersey captain Matt Hague top scored with 65 runs in a total of 110 for nine.
The Chandigarh reply included a hard-hitting 60, including several big sixes, from a talented young Indian batsman.
Jersey Cricket Board director Chris Minty said: ‘It was great to be outside playing again after two days of nets; Matt batted really well but so did their guy too in reply.’
