TWO anonymous donors have pledged to help a Turkish man left severely disabled in a vicious town attack after his story was published in the JEP last week.

They say they will pay for him to see his family for the first time since he was left severely disabled by the assault six years ago.

Oscar Isik (38) has been forced to a live a life sentence confined to a wheelchair and unable to speak after he was assaulted in a bar in St Helier in 2004. He has been unable to visit his family in Turkey because of legal and financial problems and they have been unable to come to Jersey to see him.

Last Saturday, communicating through a special computer, he bravely told the JEP his story for the first time.

As a result of the JEP article, the Jersey Cheshire Home, where he is being cared for, received two calls from people offering financial assistance to Mr Isik.
