A dry cleaning business has been saved from closure by customers stepped in to buy it.

The prompt action of Clayton Coates and business partner Matt Thébault will keep Rayners dry cleaners in Beresford Street in business and save two jobs.

They heard about the imminent closure of the firm from Mr Coates’ wife, Stephanie, who had been told by staff member Sonia Nobrega.

When she said that she and colleague Suzana Baptista were working their notice before being made redundant, Mrs Coates spoke to her husband and the business deal was set in motion.
