Annie Mac presents
Wednesday 24th February 2010, 3:00PM GMT.

Annie Mac is at the Watersplash tonight
JUST before 4am, Annie Mac finishes her set in a rammed nightclub basement and scrambles through an ecstatic crowd.
As she heads for her ride, she’s hounded by girls in neon brights and guys in shades; sweat-ridden ravers desperate for a trophy photo with the quirky BBC Radio 1 presenter who has made a successful crossover from respected DJ to accomplished television presenter.
Annie Mac’s appeal is vast – she plays everything from garage to drum and bass, is known globally for her bold mixes, and her genre-bending sets have enlisted a massive following from a young, adventurous generation searching for new and innovative tracks to remixed classics.
It’s a style she has been allowed to develop at Radio 1, through her high-profile radio show the Mashup, as well as her Friday night slot, billed ‘the official start to the weekend’.
‘I love the Mashup on Radio 1 because I get the chance to play older stuff as well as newer music,’ she says. ‘Like my favourite track at the moment is from a band called Rochelle and it’s an Andy George remix of their song Chin Up, and I love it, but at the same time I play classics like Sia’s Little Man.’
You can catch Mac at the Splash tonight, headlining for Theology, with support from Warren Le Sueur and Simon Gasston, as well as Terminal State, Schema, Archetype and Pranksta in Room 2 and DJ Pip in Room 3.
