TWO goals from leading marksman Cliff Silva booked the Portuguese Club of Jersey a second cup final of the season last night.

Portuguese defeated St Ouen 4-1 in the Le Riche Trophy semi-final at Springfield to secure a second cup final meeting with St Paul’s, whom they also meet in the Wheway Cup final.

It was a victory last season’s runaway Championship and P W Touzel Memorial Trophy winners fully deserved.

It means that the club will play St Paul’s three times during the rest of the season, in a Dandara Combination Premiership game on 6 March, the Le Riche Trophy final on 23 March and the Wheway Cup final on 20 April.

• The Portuguese team wore black armbands as a mark of respect for those who died in the Madeira floods and mudslides on Saturday. The teams also observed a minute’s silence before the game.
