JERSEY have little room to manoeuvre tomorrow – victory over Singapore is vital to avoid relegation to Division VI in the ICC World Cricket League.

Coach Craig Hogan and his troupe in Nepal are hugely disappointed to have lost three of their four games and they will be concentrating hard on defeating Singapore tomorrow, a feat they managed at home in 2008.

Victory should make them safe, but the spectre of Bahrain, Jersey’s surprise conquerors yesterday, thumping basement side Fiji and overtaking Jersey on run rate should not be lightly dismissed. Should Bahrain win the toss and secure a big target of around 300, then even a narrow Jersey victory might not be enough to stay in Division V.

Hogan said: ‘We’re all gutted; we really should have beaten Bahrain. But that is behind now and we have a job to do tomorrow against Singapore.’
