Methodist hierarchy’s Easter visit

THE president and vice-president of the Methodist Conference will be in Jersey over the Easter weekend to build connections with Island churches.

The Reverend David Gamble and his vice-president Richard Vautrey will visit the Island between Tuesday 30 March and Tuesday 6 April.

During their visit they will take part in a number of services at various Island churches as well as meeting the Bailiff and the Lieutenant-Governor.

On Thursday 1 April the president will preach and preside over the Maundy Thursday service at Georgetown Methodist Church at 7.30 pm and the following day he will attend the Good Friday Service at the St Helier Methodist Centre from 10.30 am.

The vice-president will arrive in the Island on the Friday and will join the president for a morning at Bethlehem Church on the Saturday from 10 am. During the morning, which will run until 12.15 pm, the two men will share their experiences of overseas visits during their year in office.
