THE new multi-million-pound Jersey Dairy is just months away from completion.

The Lieutenant-Governor, Lieutenant-General Andrew Ridgway, was given a tour of the complex at the Howard Davis site in Trinity this week and said that it was sure to be an excellent facility.

‘This is going to be a top-of-the-range dairy, a great job,’ he said. ‘The dairy industry is a vital part of Jersey life and always will be. I’m a big fan of Jersey milk.’

Jersey Dairy management are nearing the end of a long and protracted site move that was first talked about in 2004. They have overcome various obstacles, ranging from removing covenants on the land to securing the sale of their current site, and chairman Andrew Le Gallais is delighted that the project is nearing completion.
