Haut de la Garenne: Couple in court

A MARRIED couple from Scotland have appeared in the Magistrate’s Court charged with assaulting children at the former care home Haut de la Garenne.
Morag Louise Jordan (neé Kidd) and Anthony Jordan, who are both 61 and worked at the home in the 1970s and 1980s, are accused of committing a total of 46 common assaults on children.
Mrs Jordan is accused of 32 assaults and Mr Jordan is charged with 14. She is charged with crimes against 11 children aged between one and 17, including pushing a very young child’s face into urine. Mr Jordan is accused of assaulting three children aged between eight and 13.
The couple were released on bail on condition that they live at their home address in Scotland until their next appearance on 26 March.
