JERSEY athletes Zane Duquemin and Stanley Livingston both won silver medals at the National Indoor Athletics Championship in Birmingham yesterday.
For Livingston, up against a top class field of finalists in the under-15 400m, it was a huge personal best that put him on the podium as he followed his qualifying run of 54.97 seconds to clinch second on the line with 53.69 in the final, just 0.08 separating second and fourth place.
Coach Andrew Winnie said: ‘Stanley’s silver medal was way against the odds. It was a massive personal best so it was a huge achievement.
Duquemin, competing in the u20 shot event, threw 17.18m with his fifth throw to gain a silver medal behind Robert Mohan on 17.56m.
