Nerina and friends raise £25k for Haiti
Tuesday 2nd March 2010, 12:00PM GMT.

Star of the show: Jersey singer/song writer Nerina Pallot (00902347)
NOT many events in Jersey will feature Nerina Pallot, the Bailiff and a converted 15-seater minibus that operates as a music stage.
But the 1,300-odd Islanders who enjoyed the Help for Haiti CI music festival at Fort Regent on Sunday will tell you that they all helped make the day a success.
From 2.30 pm until 10 pm, dozens of local musicians – and a sprinkling of UK acts – performed on three different stages at the event, helping raise more than £25,000.
Organiser Niall MacFirbhisigh said that lots of people had worked hard to pull the show together as a reaction to the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti in January.
The Bailiff, Michael Birt, was a special guest at the festival and went on stage at about 7 pm to thank Islanders, on behalf of the Jersey Disaster Fund, for raising money.
