Voisin’s packs up its furniture store

VOISIN’S, the St Helier department store, has sold its Don Street furniture business, Voisins at Home.
The sale was completed at the beginning of this week, at which point Voisins at Home customers were informed of the change of ownership and told that full arrangements have been made to cover outstanding orders.
The business has been taken over by former store manager Tony Simmons and will be relaunched as Simmons & Co Ltd. Mr Simmons, who is the new company’s managing director, said: ‘We shall continue to offer a wide range of quality furniture at competitive prices.’
Voisin’s proprietor Gerald Voisin said that the sale would allow the firm to focus on retailing from the King Street store, which had been the subject of major investment recently.
