A FANTASY world of magical creatures and characters has been brought to life in performances of Alice in Wonderland at the Opera House this week.

More than 300 students from the Jersey Academy of Dancing, ranging in age from three to 18, have recreated the story under the direction of Annette Perkins, who along with Laura Reynolds and Victoria Thomas has choreographed the show.

The director has stuck to the traditional story with songs from the Disney film and added dance routines which has transformed it into a more modern and upbeat version featuring ballet, modern, tap, street and Greek dance.

The final performances are at the Opera House today at 5pm and and 8pm and on Saturday at 2.30 pm and 7.30 pm.
