Jersey two big wins from title

JERSEY Rugby Club missed out on amassing 1,000 points for the National III South East campaign on Saturday, but that was a mere aside as they garnered another four points away to Dorking on their march to promotion.
Although they actually had their big lead clipped back by a point, with their only real challengers Old Albanians gaining a bonus in a best of season 90-12 win at Portsmouth, their 11-point advantage means two more bonus point victories will secure the title – and three of the last four games are at St Peter.
Although restricted to just two tries in Saturday’s 22-6 win over a battling Dorking side, Jersey’s huge points for total, standing on 990, is no surprise given that the usually free-scoring backline provide no fewer that four of the top five leading try scorers in the league, with centres Donovan Sanders and Sam Tuia top of the pile with 29 and 22 respectively.
