IT was a dusty, windy and bitterly cold start for the first motocross race day of the season at Sorel on Sunday, but, true to type, this did not deter the riders.

Dale Campbell was superb in the air as he won all the MX1 races, with Guernsey riders Jake Pearce and Carl Walbridge taking second and third respectively. Defending champion Oliver Eden took two fourth places.

Ben Le Cornu took the first win in the MX2 class, with Guernsey rider Brett Pearce taking second. But the roles were reversed in the second race of the day.  Rookie Sam Allix rode well to take two third places.

In the Grand Final it was Campbell who took the chequered flag followed by Pearce but Declan Hussey rode really well by starting at the back of the field and working his way through the riders to claim third after a tiring 20 minutes of racing.
