Guernsey urged into U-turn on a new £93m incinerator
Thursday 11th March 2010, 2:57PM GMT.

Transport Minister Mike Jackson says the door is still open.
GUERNSEY may still build a £93 million incinerator, even though their States Members shelved the idea last month.
Plans to build the huge waste plant were scrapped by a majority of just one vote, but Deputy Tony Spruce this week tabled a motion calling for a revote.
Jersey had looked likely to benefit by up to £4 million a year from Guernsey’s decision to abolish their incinerator plans when it was revealed that the two islands had discussed using Jersey’s forthcoming La Collette plant to burn the Sarnians’ rubbish.
Transport and Technical Service Minster Mike Jackson said that Jersey’s door was open to Guernsey and that he hoped to hear from them about a possible deal.
