FLIGHTS to and from Gatwick could be severely disrupted after the union representing British Airways cabin crew announced seven strike days in the run-up to Easter.

Unite said that the airline staff would walk out for three days from 20 March and for four days from 27 March. Of BA’s three UK bases – Gatwick, Heathrow and London City – Gatwick will be the worst-hit by strike action.

Jersey Airport terminal and security manager Steve Read said: ‘Jersey Airport has yet to receive official notification of industrial action from British Airways. However, we will work with them and their local handling agency to minimise any disruption this industrial action may have on Jersey passengers.’
