A 43-YEAR-OLD man accused of stabbing a man in the neck with a broken pool cue in the Trinity Arms pub appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Warren Neil Plant, of Havre de Rozel, Trinity, has been charged with committing a grave and criminal assault on a 44-year-old man last Thursday.

The Manchester-born defendant was also charged with having an offensive weapon – a broken pool cue – in a public place and being disorderly at the same time.

The court heard that after the stabbing the victim lost a large amount of blood and had to be put in a drug induced coma in intensive care because his injuries were so severe.
